Here's Where Your Junk Goes

Junk disposal can have serious impacts on the environment. Singapore has a great recycling rate, but it could be better. There’s always room for improvement, and the progress Singapore has made is entirely because of the efforts of its people.

In 2014, Singapore generated 7.5 million tons of waste. 60% of it was recycled, and 38% was incinerated at waste-to-energy plants. Just 2% went to the landfill! The recycling rate improved 141% from 2000-2014, and that’s something to be proud of. 1

Singapore is a wonderfully green country, but only because its people are diligent about recycling. Junk disposal is one of those areas where it’s easy to slip and just send everything to the landfill. That’s why we take so much pride in our green, environmentally responsible policies.

As a junk removal service, Junk to Clear is on the front line of keeping up those figures and protecting our environment. And we really care about that responsibility! After pickup, we carefully sort through everything we removed. Our goal is to send as little as possible to the dump or landfill. We deal with more trash than most people, and we know how important it is to handle it properly.

Here’s what we do after we leave your newly spic-and-span home or business. You might be surprised at just how far we go!

Donations to Families in Need

For you, that old pair of jeans might be out of style, too tight in all the wrong places, and something you wouldn’t be caught dead in. For someone having trouble making ends meet, it might make all the difference in the world in looking for a job or walking to school.

Usually when we pull our truck out of a home, it’s filled to the brim with clothes, books, old electronics, household items, and maybe even some furniture. Most of it is old and maybe a little worse for wear, but still very usable.

Our job doesn’t end after we’re out of your driveway. We carefully go through everything and pick out the items that might do some good for those less fortunate. We donate them to a variety of charities and shelters, who might pass them on directly to families in need, or use them for fundraising. Furniture and clothes are especially likely to go to a charity.

Junk to Clear is a homegrown company committed to changing the junk clearing industry. Our manifesto is REDUCE-REUSE-RECYCLE, and we think providing items to people who need them is the most sustainable disposal technique of all.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, after all!

Responsible Junk Recycling

Not everything can be donated, but most of what’s left can be recycled. Recycling a large amount of different types of junk can be a hassle, which is why we’re happy to provide it as a professional service.

Different types of materials need to be recycled in different ways, and often need to go to different recycling plants. After our day’s pickups are done, our trained employees sort all that junk into paper products like cardboard boxes and paper trash, e-waste like old electronics and batteries, and more.

We take each type of refuse to the appropriate recycling facility where its environmental impact is reduced or entirely eliminated. It just makes sense. We kind of like the Earth, and we want to keep it clean just as much as you do!

Landfill as a Last Resort

After we’ve donated everything we can and recycled everything we can, our truck is usually pretty close to empty. What’s left in there goes to the landfill, and we try to impress the people there with how little junk we bring!

Not everything is recyclable, but at Junk to Clear, we go the extra mile to recycle everything we possibly can. We like to say junk disposal is a dirty business, and we’re out to change it. Clearing out the refuse from your life doesn’t have to mean making a mess for someone else. There are so many different ways to dispose of junk that don’t hurt the environment.

We’re proud to be a green company, and we take our manifesto of REDUCE-REUSE-RECYCLE seriously.
